Maria João Thompson is an assistant professor at the Department of Economics, University of Minho and a researcher at NIPE (Research Center on Economic Policies). She holds a BA in Economics from the NOVA School of Business and Economics, MA in Economics from the University of Warwick, UK, and a PhD in Economics from the University of Warwick. Her research interests focus on the analytical development of models of economic growth in the search for additional sources of nations’ economic growth. Has articles published in international journals such as Journal of Economics; Economic Modeling; Metroeconomica, Japan and the World Economy, Journal of International Trade and Economic Development, Journal of Business Economics and Management.
