João Martins is an Invited Professor of the Department of Economics of the School of Economics and Management and a researcher at the United Nations University (UNU-EGOV). He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Minho. His research interests are in the areas of Public Economics, Digital Government, and Macroeconomics. He has published in journals such as Government Information Quarterly, Economic & Politics, Information Economics and Policy and Social Science Computer Review. He has participated in research projects funded by Fundação Francisco Manuel dos Santos and the European Social Fund and in consultancy projects with governments of United Nations member states in the area of digital governance.
