José Manuel Vilas Boas Ferreira, after 30 years of experience in the textile industry, is currently the Chairman of the Valerius Group, which comprises companies in the industrial sectors: Textiles, Footwear, Cellulose and Automobile. Throughout his career, he held the position of Industrial Director of Araujo & IrmãosTexteis, a textile company that specialises in fashion. He was the co-creator of the Inoveplastika project, SA – development and production of plastic spare parts for the automotive sector and subsequently acquired the Valerius Texteis SA, the Ambar Ideias no Papel and the Fabrica de Calçado Campeão Português. He has been invested Commander of the Business Enterprise Credit Order, Merit Industrial Class, conferred by His Excellency the President of the Portuguese Republic on 27 March 2015.

Valerius Group assembles several companies such as Valérius (textile), Camport (footwear), Ambar (cellulose), Inoveplastika and Henfilgon (automobile). From 2015 onwards the Group has increased 76% the number of its employees, and it currently employs about of 800 workers. Its business volume, in 2018, has reached 75 million euros and its investment has been 25 million euros, which corresponds to a 56% growth in the turnover when the investment more than tripled as compared to the year of 2015.
