Cheap Drive
EEG teachers Marco Escadas and Tania Nery, teachers at the Curricular Unit of Business Management and Strategy led their students to win the Ready to Grow award in the national competition of the Start-Up of Junior Achievement Portugal (JAP) with the Cheap Drive project.
In this winning team is Fábio Ribeiro, João Oliveira, and Tiago Brito, students of the 4th year of the Integrated Master in Engineering and Management of Information from the University of Minho. They developed a platform that brings together many travels offers with the most economical companies, fast and close to the user's location (eg Uber, Cabify and Bolt, etc.). With the award, the team received the opportunity to have a mentoring session and to accelerate the business through a pilot project in the companies of José Mello Group or its network.
The JAP Start-Up Program provides university students with entrepreneurship training, providing the opportunity to experience the management of their own company, giving them an insight into how their competencies can be used in the development of a business. With the support and monitoring of volunteers from companies, students have real experience in the business world, by developing a concept, an investment proposal, and a business plan.

Congratulations to Professor Marco Escadas and Tania Nery and the winning students!
