The School of Economics and Management celebrated on
March 10th its forty-first anniversary with the presence of several members of
the academic community and figures linked to the EEG and the University of
Minho.
The EEG's president, Cláudia Simões, gave a speech at
the ceremony, reviewing in her speech the activities developed during the year
2022 and the evolution that the School presented along that year. The School
presents itself as a strong pillar in the transmission of quality knowledge, in
its training offer and in the production of more scientific research with more
impact, according to the words of the EEG's president. The session was followed
by the presentation of the EEG School Merit Awards, the Almedina Award, the
Teaching Award, and the Research Award. There was then a moment for the
recognition of external partners of the EEG, people who distinguished
themselves with the impact of research and the recognition of the School's
career. Finally, the longest-serving staff members were honored. This was
followed by a lecture presented by Cerealis' CEO, Rui Amorim de Sousa, with the
theme "Contemporary Management Challenges: Innovation, Leadership and
Internationalization".
The session ended with a speech by the Rector of the
University of Minho, Rui Vieira de Castro, who highlighted the importance that
EEG has in several sectors for the university.
