EEG Business Day 2023 brings together around 1000 students
Back
Thursday, 11/16/2023
On November 15, 2023, the School of Economics and Management at the University of Minho organized the 13th EEG Business Day, which brought together representatives from twenty-six national and international companies and around a thousand students.
The morning began with parallel sessions where the students had the opportunity to witness first-hand the stories of these employers as well as the professional challenges that were addressed in the sessions, which included the following companies: Toogas, Banco Carregosa, Cachapuz, Decisões e Soluções, Ikea, Efficio Consulting, Continental, Câmara Municipal de Braga, PwC, FinTru, Grupo dst, Bloomberg, BDO, Grupo Trofa Saúde, Sonae, Natixis, Nestlé, Salvador Caetano, NOS Comunicações, EY, Instituto Diplomático and Delloite.
The afternoon included a Round Table on “Challenges and Opportunities of Artificial Intelligence: Markets, Territories and Society”, led by Carlos Sousa Santos, Executive Director of Human Power Hub, Miguel Martins, Ex-CMO of Amazon in Singapore, and Paulo Calçada, Executive Director of Porto Digital, in a debate moderated by Paulo Reis Mourão, Professor in the Economics Department at EEG. The stage of Auditorium A1 was filled with the magic of illusionist Mário Daniel, who after a few minutes spoke about “The Illusion of Success: work and overcoming”, in a session moderated by EEG Alumnus Pedro Couto Soares. The EEG Business Day was closed by Rui Marques, Director General of the Braga Business Association.
For Cláudia Simões, President of EEG, this initiative contributes to "developing a set of skills that go beyond what is learned in the classroom and which today is so important for entering the job market and also for the citizens we are training".
As part of the EEGenerating Skills program, EEG Business Day is an event organized by the School of Economics and Management, whose main objective is to support undergraduate and master's students in their interaction with the job market. It is an initiative within the scope of EEG's Transversal Skills Programme, EEGenerating Skills, which brings business and non-governmental organizations to the school to discuss relevant topics on employability, career prospects and new business models.
See you next year EEG Business Day!
