EEG gathers 840 students in a day of interaction with Companies

The School of Economics and Management (EEG) of the University of Minho hosted, on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, the EEG Business Day. About 840 students and representatives of almost three dozen companies attended the twelfth edition of this event, in the different activities of the program. In the morning, the event had parallel sessions about the functioning of organizations and included business challenges from companies such as Impetus, RNM Group, Infineon, MK Talent, LIDL, Inova+, TUB, FinTrU, Ikea, Colep Consumer Products, Colep Packaging, Natixis, dst group, NOS Comunicações, Cachapuz, BDO, Delloite, Hilti, CM Porto, Grupo Trofa Saúde, Forças Armadas, and EY. In the afternoon, there was a round table on “Business and Society” which had as participants Daniela Neto, Salsa Brand Coordinator, Guta Moura Guedes, Co-Founder and President of Experimenta Association, Marta André, Vice-President of PlatformE’s operations, in a debate moderated by Carla Freire, professor of the Management Department at EEG. A lecture also took place under the theme “Overcoming limits: Respect, Teamwork and Reaching Further” streamlined by Canoeing Athlete Emanuel Silva and moderated by the President of the School of Economics and Management, Cláudia Simões. Pedro Fraga, President of the General Assembly and Strategic Council of the Braga Business Association gave the closing speech. Inserted into the EEGenerating Skills program, the EEG Business Day has as its main purpose to bring EEG students closer to the labor market, allowing the opportunity to develop transversal skills considered essential in the business world.
The EEG’s President, Cláudia Simões, referred that “this is an important event for students to interact closely with the labor market” and highlighted the “record participation of students and the diversification of the participating organizations, which allowed to cover the heterogeneous interests of the School’s students”.
