On November 12, the School of Economics, Management, and Political Science at the University of Minho (EEG) held another edition of EEG Business Day, an event that strengthens the connection between students and the job market.
Throughout the day, the Gualtar campus became a meeting point for students, companies, and institutions, providing a space for networking, sharing, and discovering professional opportunities.
The program included thematic sessions, business presentations, and opportunities for direct interaction between recruiters and participants, encouraging dialogue on employability, innovation, and future careers.
The afternoon was dedicated to reflection and debate with two main initiatives:
Round Table “AI in the Business Context: Risks, Challenges, and Opportunities”The session featured contributions from Filipa Correia, Miguel Gonçalves, Sílvia Araújo, and Vítor Soares, moderated by Miguel Portela. The conversation addressed the impact of Artificial Intelligence in the business context, reflecting on the risks, challenges, and opportunities that this technology represents for the future of work.
Lecture: “Facing Storms with Emotional Intelligence”
Ricardo Cabete closed the event, challenging participants to reflect on managing emotions in contexts of stress, anxiety, and uncertainty. He drew inspiration from the example of buffalo, which face storms head-on. The speaker shared strategies for developing confidence, emotional balance, and resilience in a world increasingly marked by the presence of Artificial Intelligence.
Several leading national and international companies from sectors such as consulting, technology, industry, health, and services were present, reinforcing EEG's commitment to preparing its students for the challenges of the global market.
EEG Business Day is part of EEG's Transversal Skills Development Program – EEGenerating Skills and is one of the School's flagship initiatives in promoting the connection between the academic world and the business community.
