  APPLICATIONS

Embarking on a PhD is both an intellectual and personal journey, offering opportunities for growth, creativity, and innovation. This stage provides an opportunity for individuals to specialize in their field of interest, an essential element for those aiming to lead and push the boundaries of knowledge. At EEG, you will be taught by highly qualified academics who stay up-to-date with the latest research and publish in top-tier international scientific journals.

EEG's research is supported by a range of activities that promote interaction and the exchange of knowledge between its members and with the academic community worldwide. We highlight the regular series of seminars and the Summer School on advanced methodologies, where we host renowned international academics. Internationalisation is further promoted by a series of research collaborations, co-authorship networks and formal and informal memberships in international organisations.

EEG's research centres are the Centre for Research in Political Science (CICP) , rated Excellent by the FCT, and the Centre for Research in Economic and Business Policies (NIPE) , rated Very Good. The reputation of the centers, professors and researchers ensure an excellent basis for evaluating applications for funding, such as FCT grants and others.

Completing a PhD program helps foster analytical skills and critical thinking and creates an environment that encourages innovation in resolving organizational problems. It enables individuals to conduct scientific research, both fundamental and applied, autonomously and in collaboration with others. A PhD is not only an academic degree but also a platform for the development of leaders, thinkers, and innovators who will shape their respective fields and society at large.
