Delfina Gomes é Professora Auxiliar na Escola de Economia e Gestão. Já esteve como investigadora convidada no RMIT University/Austrália e na Edinburgh Business School/Escócia. O principal campo de investigação é a História da Contabilidade. Principais projetos de investigação: Contabilidade e Religião, Contabilidade e Guerra, Contabilidade e o Estado, Contabilidade e Profissão. Já publicou em revistas científicas internacionais, entre as quais: Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal, European Accounting Review, Accounting History, e Accounting Education. Pertence ao Corpo Editorial de várias revistas científicas internacionais, entre as quais o Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal e a revista Accounting History. Participa na revisão de artigos para diversas revistas científicas internacionais. Recebeu o prémio da Academy of Accounting Historians - 2009 Margit F. Schoenfeld and Hanns Martin W. Schoenfeld Scholarship em História da Contabilidade, da qual é Trustee.
