On October 21, the School of Economics, Management, and Political Science at the University of Minho hosted an AlumniTalk@EEG session with Jorge Cristino, engineer and master in International Relations from UMinho, in the dst Auditorium.
Currently CEO of Get2C, Jorge Cristino shared with students and faculty his professional career, marked by the connection between the areas of environment, politics, and management. The guest highlighted the importance of academic training at the University of Minho for the development of a critical and multidisciplinary vision, essential throughout his career.
In the public sector, he was Chief of Staff to the Secretary of State for the Environment in the 21st Constitutional Government and held municipal positions as deputy councilor with various responsibilities. He is also a member of the jury for the climate change indicator of the ECOXXI - Green Flag Municipalities Program, a member of the Mission Group for the recognition of Climate as Common Heritage of Humanity at the United Nations, founder of the Landscape Laboratory in Guimarães, and former President of the Academic Association of the University of Minho.
The session was an opportunity to share and reflect on the importance of local and global action in responding to environmental challenges and strengthening sustainable public policies.
