A Escola de Economia e Gestão da Universidade do Minho acolheu o seminário subordinado ao tema "Challenges in Human Resource Management". O seminário focou as diferenças individuais no ambiente de trabalho e como os gerentes e profissionais de Recursos Humanos podem responder a essas diferenças. A sessão contou com a intervenção de Aykut Berber (Istanbul University School of Business, Turkey) sob o tópico "Diversity matters! A discussion on conceptual thinking in management and HRM" e de Yasin Rofcanin (University of Bath, School of Management, UK) sob o tópico "Exploring HR differentiation: For whom, when and under which conditions does it work?"
A moderação e organização do evento esteve a cargo de Carolina Machado (Escola de Economia e Gestão - UMinho, Portugal).

O evento foi aberto a toda a comunidade académica.

Aykut Berber acquired his BSc degree in Mathematics from Marmara University (1994) and his Ph.D. degree in Business Management and Organisation from Istanbul University (2003). His research interests include history of management, qualitative research methods in management, organisational behaviour, networks and networking, and innovation & sustainability management. In addition to his book on classical management thought and book chapters in the field of human resource management, he has publications in national and international journals and he has presented papers at several EIASM, ISPIM, EBHA and national management and organisation conferences. He currently works as a professor of management at Istanbul University giving lectures in Ph.D., MSc and MBA programmes. In 2014, he spent the Spring semester at Brunel University Brunel Business School in London, UK as a visiting professor and researcher. He is an associate editor for the European Management Review (EURAM), the editor-in-chief of Istanbul Business Research, and an editorial review board member of the International Journal of Applied Management Science and Engineering.

Yasin Rofcanin is a reader (Associate Professor) of Organizational Behaviour and HRM at the University of Bath, School of Management, UK. He has obtained his PhD in Organizational Behaviour and HRM from Warwick Business School, University of Warwick. His research focuses on flexible work practices, family supportive supervisor behaviours (FSSBs), HRM differentiation, i-deals, job crafting and employee work engagement. His research has appeared in journals including Human Relations, Journal of Organizational Behavior, International Journal of HRM, Journal of Occupational Organizational Psychology and Human Resource Management Journal, among others.
