The School of Economics and
Management hosted, on October 28th, 2022, in the dst auditorium, the conference
"Portugal and the new international geostrategic context." The event
had as Keynote Speaker Professor Sandra Fernandes from the EEG's Political
Science Department, who talked about "The Impact of the War in Ukraine in
European and global geopolitics" to an audience of students and professors
of the academy.
The session included a debate
on "Portugal and the new geostrategic context of National Defence"
with Ana Paula Brandão and José Palmeira, professors of the EEG's Political
Science Department, José Pedro Fernandes, a researcher at the National Defence
Institute, and Sandra Fernandes as moderator. At the end of the session, the
public had the opportunity to ask questions to these specialists.
The Director of the National
Defence Institute, Isabel Alexandra Nunes, and the Vice-Rector of the
University of Minho, Eugénio Ferreira, concluded the conference.
The School of Economics and
Management of UMinho, the Research Center in Political Science (CICP), and the
National Defence Institute (IDN) organised the event.
