The School of Economics and
Management received on December 5, 2022, at 17h30, in the EEG's dst Auditorium,
its Alumnus Vasco Santos, as part of the cycle of lectures entitled
AlumniTalk@eeg, inserted in the EEG's Cross-Cutting Skills Development Programme
(EEGenerating Skills). The initiative aims to bring back to EEG graduated
professionals to share with current students their professional careers and
talk about the projects they are involved in.
Vasco
Santos has a degree in International Relations – Economics and Political from
the School of Economics and Management of the University of Minho. He also has
a post-graduate degree in Marketing and completed the executive programme “TGM-
General Management” at INSEAD Business School (France). With a 25-year career
in the retail and commercial real estate sectors, he has worked for retail
companies such as Decathlon, Intersport and Parfois, where he led the brand's internationalization
process for 5 years as Commercial Director. Since 2006 he is at the Ingka Group
(also known as IKEA Group) where he is Global Sales & Leasing Director of
one of the 3 divisions of the Group – Ingka Centres – which operates in the
Commercial Real Estate sector with a portfolio that stretches from Shanghai to
San Francisco. From Malmo (Sweden) and Madrid, he leads a team of 200 people
spread over 3 continents. Passionate about history, travel and knowledge of
other cultures, he still hopes to learn Arabic
