Banco de Portugal honors EEG Economics Student Back

On January 9, Matilde João Barbosa Matos, a student at the School of Economics and Management (EEG) at the University of Minho, was awarded the Professor Jacinto Nunes Prize, the award given annually by the Bank of Portugal to the best undergraduate economics students in the country.
The Professor Jacinto Nunes Prize is an initiative of the Bank of Portugal, designed to annually reward the students who obtain the highest marks in their degree in Economics from the various universities in the country.
"It's a great honor for me to receive the Professor Jacinto Nunes award, presented by the Governor of the Bank of Portugal, Mário Centeno and the Director, Rui Pinto. It represents the recognition of the entire path I have traveled throughout my degree in Economics," says the EEG student.
"I would like to thank Banco de Portugal, the Board of Directors and all the people involved in organizing this memorable day. I would also like to thank Professor Luís Aguiar-Conraria, President of the School of Economics and Management, for attending the award ceremony, all the teachers and colleagues who have marked my academic career and the School of Economics and Management for the excellent work it does with its students on a daily basis," he adds.
