The Foundation for Science and Technology's (FCT) most recent evaluations of national research centres have brought particularly significant results for the University of Minho's School of Economics, Management and Political Science (EEG). The School's three research units - CICP, NIPE, and iBMS - were rated Excellent, Very Good, and Good, respectively, reaffirming EEG's scientific relevance on the national scene.
The Political Science Research Centre (CICP) was rated Excellent. Since these FCT evaluations have existed, the CICP - and its founding centres, NEAPP and NICPRI - have always deserved this distinction. This continuity at the highest level of assessment represents a unique achievement among Political Science research centres in Portugal.
This result takes on even more significant symbolism in the year the school adopted the new name, School of Economics, Management and Political Science, reinforcing the coherence and impact of the institutional change.
The Economic Policy Research Centre (NIPE) once again obtained a Very Good rating, thus maintaining a series of consecutive positive evaluations. This stability attests to the solidity and maturity of the work carried out by the centre, contributing decisively to EEG's affirmation as a relevant centre for research in Economics and Management at the national level.
iBMS - Institute of Business and Management Sciences, EEG's most recent centre, was rated Good. As a young centre, this result is particularly encouraging, showing potential for growth and consolidation in the future. The FCT evaluation thus recognises the merit of the first years of iBMS activity and points to promising prospects.
The results of the FCT evaluations confirm the quality of the work carried out at EEG in Political Science, Economics, and Management. The consistency of the classifications obtained by its research centres reflects the ongoing commitment to rigorous and relevant scientific production, consolidating the School's role in the national academic context.
