Mourão, Associate Professor with Aggregation at the Department of Economics,
was elected President of the Council of Library Users of the University of
Minho, for the mandate 2023 to 2025.
The UM
Library Users Council is a organ that focuses on the enhancement of the assets
of the libraries associated with the University, on the management and use of
the reading and study areas of the various UM libraries, as well as on the
promotion and dissemination of UMinho Editora publications. Besides the actions
foreseen in the respective Regulations, the current mandate, according to the
elected president, will visit the several Organic Teaching and Research Units
of the University, promoting the decentralization of the Council's meetings and
the initiative 'Books with History', focused on animated conversations with
students, teachers and collaborators, around the oldest, most requested or most
read books/examples associated to the programs of the UC of each School and in
the possession of the university libraries.
