The
School of Economics and Management promoted this week a Blended Intensive
Programme (BIP) with two international Higher Education Institutions - LA SALLE Saint Etienne, France (Coordinating and
Sending Institution) and AVANS University of Applied Sciences, The Netherlands
(Sending Institution).
The
project consists of a simulation game about Management and International Trade
named CESIM FIRM, including online synchronous and asynchronous sessions and
onsite/presential sessions, the latter ones convened by EEGIUMinho from 17-21
April 2013.
The Game
approach: The business game integrates critical management areas: production
management, marketing, logistics and finance. It renders participants aware of
operational and financial management-related matters while applying a
development strategy.
Purpose
of the Project: materialising an experience abroad (academic, professional,
cultural) - applies to LASALLE and AVANS. Regarding the UMinho students, it
translates into an experience in an international environment.
The CESIM
Firm Game is coached by three Coaches: Karim El Asmar (appointed by La Salle),
Karin van de Weijer (appointed by Avans) and Cristiana Gião (appointed by
EEGIUMinho).
The Game
is a competition played by six students from La Salle, nine from Avans and
twelve from EEGIUMinho.
