On the 12th of June took place in
the School of Economics and Management, in the dst auditorium, the qualifying
session for the XVII edition of the startup programme, promoted by Junior
Achievement Portugal (JAP). One of the most relevant youth entrepreneurship
programmes, in which several Portuguese universities compete. A total of
twenty-one projects were presented and defended by the students, with a strong
orientation towards the achievement of some of the sustainable development
goals, proposed by the UN in agenda 2030 (ODS).
The event took place within the
Entrepreneurship curricular unit, taught by professor Nuno Marques to master
and undergraduate students of EEG. The opening session was in charge of
Professor Maria do Céu Pinto, President of the Pedagogical Council and
Vice-President of the EEG, who congratulated the Junior Achievement project and
the connection with companies, and emphasized the importance of youth
entrepreneurship in universities, as a structuring approach, for social
transformation and innovation. The rest of the session was facilitated by Bruno
Ramos (Director of Operations) of JAP.
The students presented and defended the
entrepreneurial projects, before a jury panel, consisting of senior managers
from various departments of the multinational Bosch (human resources,
communication and production): Ana Barroso, Dora Silva and Luís Morais.
Four teams and one student from EEG were
selected and will represent the University of Minho in the XVII edition of the
Startup Programme, to happen in 2024.
