On 6 June, the School of Economics and
Management organised a meeting of former students from the EEG and UMinhoExec
with the aim of strengthening the link between the school and its community of
graduates from different generations. The event, which was held at the
Panoramic Restaurant of the University of Minho, also marked the 9th anniversary
of UMinhoExec.
The meeting began with a speech from the EEG
President, Cláudia Simões, where she praised the importance of the alumni
community for the school projects, encouraging graduates to get involved in
different activities involving entrepreneurs, mentoring and these networking
meetings. He also praised the role of UMinhoExec for the EEG and its
contribution to the valorisation of the training provided at the School.
Afterwards, a round table with the theme "Professional paths and lifelong
training" took place, with the interventions of Tiago Marques Pereira,
financial director of JPM Group, and Johan Stevens, executive director of
Sanitop, and was moderated by Maria do Céu Pinto Arena, Vice-President of EEG.
The 9th anniversary of UMinhoExec was marked with an intervention by
the Director of the executive training unit, Beatriz Casais, who reflected on
the challenges achieved in terms of the training portfolio, international
recognition and partnerships established, the projects underway and the value
generated in terms of human capital training not only regionally but also
nationally. The closing speech was given by the Pro-Rector for Institutional
Evaluation and Special Projects of the University of Minho, Guilherme Pereira.
This was followed by a moment of fraternisation between those present with a
networking cocktail.
The event was attended by almost 100 people
including Alumni from the UMinhoExec undergraduate, master's, doctoral and
executive training programmes, EEG Professors and UMinhoExec Trainers, company
representatives and other guests. The
meeting was an opportunity for former students to socialise and remember good
times spent at the EEG and UMinhoExec.
