Note to the Academic Community | COVID-19 - Lifting of Containment Measures Back

The plan for the progressive lifting of the COVID-19 containment measures in EEG follows the recommendations issued by the Committee for the Development and Management of the University of Minho's COVID-19 Internal Contingency Plan.

General measures according to the Rectoral Order RT - ​45/2020, of 8th of May

i) Mandatory use of facemasks by all members of the academic community, users and contracted service providers, in EEG facilities;

ii) Mandatory hand disinfection at the entrance of EEG and before entering collective spaces (labs, offices and meeting rooms) with an alcohol-based antiseptic solution, available in various locations in collective dispensers;

iii) Mandatory social distancing in all EEG spaces (circulation spaces; offices; teaching/research offices; meeting rooms and labs);

iv) Maximum capacity announced at the entrance of each room/office, defined according to the general rules.

Internal Contingency Plan for the Azurém and Gualtar Campuses​​​

 EEG will open from 1 June onwards, but face-to-face service to students, faculty and other public will be limited to duly justified situations and require prior appointment, by email or telephone, to avoid the concentration of people.

When circulating in the halls and contacting with people within the building, facemasks must aways be worn and hand sanitisers dispensers are available in several places.

In the current context of suspension of activities at the University of Minho, it was determined the suspension of conferences, seminars, ceremonies and events of similar nature throughout the University of Minho (Rectoral Order ​​​RT-25/2020, of 10th of March). Therefore, all scheduled events remain cancelled.

The suspension/cancellation of events scheduled for later dates will be evaluated depending on the evolution of the atypical period we are experiencing. The rescheduling of the activities that have so far been suspended will also be considered in due course.
