The School of Economics and Management, University of Minho, hosts the Open Talk "Employability for Inclusion: Sustainability and Social Responsibility" on November 10th, 2021. The event will take place in Auditorium A1 of the Pedagogical Complex 1 (CP1) of UMinho, at the Gualtar Campus, in Braga, starting at 9.30 a.m.
Through a free and open conversation about experiences, ideas, and ideals that open paths to a future of responsibility, the initiative's principal goal is to motivate and inspire action at a time of planetary rupture and environmental crisis. Besides, this event endeavors to deepen a model of sustainable development that links employment, inclusion, and environment, having as target entrepreneurs, students, social sector professionals, and other people interested in the subject.
The session will feature two round table discussions, the first on "Circular Economy: Opportunities and Challenges" by João Menezes (Business Council for Sustainable Development Portugal), Jorge Araújo (Centre for Waste Valorisation - Technological Interface U.Minho -CVR), Pedro Norton (Green Fest), Filipa Gouveira (Circular Economy Clu) and Sílvia Sousa, Professor of the Department of Economics of the EEG, UMinho. The second round table with the theme "Employability and Inclusion Practices" counts with Mariana Eugénio, (Soutelo Social Centre), Vitor Torres (Delta Cafés), João Queiróz, (Aga Khan Foundation), Maria do Carmo Pinto (Incorpora Programme) and Carlota Quintão (Just Green - A35).
The closing session will be in charge of João Cerejeira, EEG's Professor of the Department of Economics, who will debate "Which future for environmental sustainability and inclusive employment?".
It concerns an initiative of the Centro Distrital de Segurança Social de Braga and the 16 CLDS 4G projects of the District of Braga, co-organised by the Master in Social Economics of the School of Economics and Management, University of Minho, as part of the EEG Transferable Skills Development Programme (EEGenerating Skills).
