Member of the Department of International Relations and Public Administration, in the School of Economics and Management at the University of Minho, and of the Centre of Research in Political Science. He is member of the board of the European Studies Section of the Portuguese Association of Political Science. He held, among others, the functions of President of Council of Courses of Economic Sciences, Business and Politics and Director of the Section of Political Science and International Relations, in addition to have been director of undergraduate and master's degrees in International Relations and Political Science. He was also Director of Research Unit in Political Science and International Relations and of their journal (Perspectives), as well as official representative of the ECPR (European Consortium for Political Research).
