The Degree in Economics provides students with solid foundations in economics, quantitative methods, data analysis and management. Students are also motivated to do applied work, by using real data and by being in contact with economic institutions and corporations. It makes use of teaching/learning methodologies that stimulate students’ independent and cooperative work, ensuring the acquisition of the skills needed to be successful in the labour market and boost their future careers. Students interact with a strongly committed and young faculty, which got PhD from the best European and American universities. Students also benefit UMinho's modern facilities and a friendly setting. These factors have contributed to render our Degree in Economics a reference in the field of Economics.
The bachelor in Economics has a strong international focus, manifest not only in the course contents, but also in the fact that at least a third of the courses are taught in English. In addition, international mobility is highly valued, and students are encouraged to study abroad for a semester.
