S. Martinho de Dume award distinguishes students of the Social Economics Master of EEG Back

Prize S. Martinho de Dume
Maria João Ribeiro da Silva Lopes, student of the Social Economics Master of the School of Economics and Management of University of Minho was awarded with the S. Martinho de Dume 2019 award for the dissertation entitled: “O voluntariado universitário na elaboração de candidaturas de apoio social africano – Um estudo de caso em Cabo Verde”. The thesis was supervised by Cristina Moreira, Professor of the Economics Department of EEG of University of Minho.
The Jury constituted by the Professors Eduardo Duque and Paulo Neves, Sílvia Sousa, Director of the Social Economics of the School of Economics and Management of University of Minho, decided also to attribute an Honourable Mention to the two students of this master: Tânia Afonso Esteves for the dissertation work “Os idosos e a inclusão social: estudo do grau de sensibilização da população às campanhas de apoio aos idosos”, orientated by Carlos Costa, Professor of the Economics Department of EEG; and Neide Seomara Vando Marciano for the dissertation work “Uma discussão sobre os efeitos da multiculturalidade no mercado laboral português – Uma visão recolhida numa amostra da imigração de Braga”, orientated by Paulo Mourão, Professor of the Economics Department. Congratulations to the students of EEG and their orienteers!
The S. Martinho de Dume award is the result of a partnership filed between the National Pastoral Ministry Service of the Superior Education, the School of Economics and Management of University of Minho and the Cáritas Portuguesa, being its first year.
The award aims to distinguish, through a book edition, the best master’s work on the research area in Social Economics, developed in the ambit of the referred Master of the School of Economics and Management of University of Minho. The book will be later presented on a public event
