Fernando
Alexandre, Professor at the Department of Economics, School of Economics and
Management (EEG), University of Minho, and Researcher at the EEG Centre for
Research in Economics and Management, is part of the Fourth General Council of
the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria. The inauguration took place on September
9th, at the headquarters building of the same Institute.
Professor
Fernando Alexandre is PhD in Economics from the University of London - Birkbech
College. Formerly he was Pro-Rector for the Valorization of Knowledge, Head of
the School of Management and Economics, President of the Pedagogical Council,
and Director of the Department of Economics. The Professor is Vice-president of
the Economic and Social Council and consultant of the Francisco Manuel dos
Santos Foundation. He was Secretary of State Adjunct to the Minister of Home
Affairs in the XIX Constitutional Government. He is the co-author of seven
books and several articles published in international scientific journals
focusing on the Portuguese economy, economic policy, and financial markets.
Fernando Alexandre is also a consultant to public and private entities,
including the Portuguese Government and the European Commission. He is an RTP
commentator and regularly collaborates with the media.
