Prémio António Dornelas
Natália Monteiro, Marieta Valente, and Odd Straume, professors of the Department of Economics and researchers at the Centre for Research in Economics and Management (NIPE) of the School of Economics and Management (EEG) of UMinho, were distinguished with the "António Dornelas Award 2021", with the article "Does remote work improve or harm labour productivity in enterprises? Longitudinal evidence in Portugal".
The "António Dornelas Award" is given by the Ministry of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security and distinguishes scientific or technical assignments prepared by scholars, researchers, and university lecturers in the areas of work, employment, vocational training, and labour relations, whether in the areas of social security and solidarity, or inclusion of people with disabilities. The award is also a tribute to university professor António Dornelas, sociologist, a specialist in labour issues, coordinator of the 2006 "Livro Verde das Relações Laborais" book, a researcher at the Centre for Research and Studies in Sociology, advisor to the President of the Republic for Labour and Social Affairs and Secretary of State for Labour and Training.
EEG faculty has been recurrently in the list of awardees of the António Dornelas Award. It is recalled that in the last edition, in 2020, Priscila Ferreira, correspondingly a professor at EEG's Department of Economics and researcher at NIPE, obtained an honorable mention.
