The School of Economics, Management and Political Science at the University of Minho held another session of the CEO Talk cycle, with the participation of Edite Barbosa, Chief Corporate Officer at Sonae Arauco, one of the world's largest wood-based panel companies.
Born in Viana do Castelo, Edite Barbosa has a degree in International Relations and a postgraduate degree in Human Resources Management from the University of Minho, as well as a postgraduate degree in Labour Law from the Portuguese Catholic University. More recently, she completed the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard Business School, following a course of executive training that included internationally renowned institutions such as INSEAD and IMD.
With over 25 years of experience in Human Resources, her professional career has included multinationals such as Valeo, Leoni, BorgWarner and Sonae Indústria. He is currently a member of the Executive Committee of Sonae Arauco, where he is responsible for Human Resources, Corporate Communication, Internal Audit and Risk Management, Legal, Continuous Improvement, Quality and Management Systems.
The session provided students and the academic community at EEG with an opportunity for direct contact with a top leader, allowing them to reflect on international career paths, leadership skills development and the strategic challenges of management in large global organisations.
