The School of Economics, Management, and Political Science at the University of Minho invites students to participate in the EEGConnect session, dedicated to Aristotle's Rhetoric applied to Marketing and Communication, which will take place on February 5, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., in the dst Auditorium.
Promoted with the support of NEMKT – Marketing Student Group, this session aims to analyze the relevance of the principles of classical rhetoric in building effective marketing and communication strategies, highlighting their relevance in the contemporary context.
The session will begin with a brief presentation of the guest speaker's professional career, followed by an approach to the three pillars of persuasion defined by Aristotle — Ethos, Pathos, and Logos — as essential foundations for influencing audiences and strengthening brands. The importance of the credibility of the sender, the role of emotions and empathy in creating a connection with the audience, as well as the need for logical and consistent arguments will be explored, highlighting the balanced articulation of these elements as the basis for persuasive, relevant, and effective communication.
The guest speaker will be Diogo de Lima, Brand Manager at SC Braga, a marketing and branding professional with an international and multicultural background. With a degree in Global Marketing from IPAM and a master's degree in International Marketing & Brand Management from Lund University, he has developed and managed brands in various sectors, combining strategic thinking, creativity, and a results-oriented approach.
This EEGConnect session is part of EEG's Transversal Skills Development Program (EEGenerating Human Skills).Registration is available on the EEGenerating Skills platform.
