The School of Economics, Management and Political Science at the University of Minho promoted the session ‘EEGConnect: The Economics of Mental Health - The Hidden Cost of Productivity’, as part of the Economics Conference and organised by NAECUM - the Economics Students' Association at the University of Minho.
The initiative was attended by Prof. Joana Cima, from the School of Economics, Management and Political Science at UMinho, and Prof. Maria Ana Matias, from the University of York, who reflected on the impact of mental health on productivity, analysing its economic and social effects and the challenges it poses for organisations and public policies.
The Economics Conference also included other sessions dedicated to areas such as personal finance and investment in financial assets, the sustainability of Portuguese social security, digital and economic skills for the economist of the future, the internationalisation of Portuguese companies, the state of housing in Portugal and the challenges of technology and talent in the national context.
