EEGConnect: Characterization of the Social Economy Sector in Portugal

The School of Economics, Management, and Political Science at the University of Minho invites the academic community to participate in the session “EEGConnect: Characterization of the Social Economy Sector in Portugal,” which will take place on March 6, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., in the dst Auditorium.

The purpose of this session is to disseminate data from the Social Economy Satellite Account, as well as other official statistical instruments on the sector, contributing to a better understanding of its relevance to the national economy and promoting research in this area.

The initiative will feature the participation of experts from CASES – Cooperativa António Sérgio para a Economia Social: Dr. Eduardo Pedroso, economist responsible for Statistics and Databases, and Dr. Edna Neves, economist and senior technician, who will share their knowledge and perspectives on the characterization and evolution of the sector.

This session is promoted by CASES – Cooperativa António Sérgio para a Economia Social, as part of the Social Economy Conference.

This EEGConnect session is part of the EEG Transversal Skills Development Program (EEGenerating Human Skills), promoting critical thinking and debate on current issues with an impact on society and the economy.
