The School of Economics, Management, and Political Science at the University of Minho invites the academic community to participate in the session “EEGConnect: Portrait of poverty in Portugal: what do the indicators tell us (and not tell us)?” which will take place on March 13, 2026, in the dst Auditorium.
Promoted as part of the Social Economy Conference, this session will feature Dr. Elizabeth Santos, who holds a degree in Sociology from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra and has been a technician and researcher at EAPN Portugal - European Anti-Poverty Network since 2003.
Throughout the session, the speaker will address how statistical indicators contribute to understanding the reality of poverty in Portugal, also reflecting on the limitations of these instruments in analyzing the different dimensions of poverty and social exclusion.
This EEGConnect session is part of the EEG Transversal Skills Development Program (EEGenerating Human Skills).
