The School of Economics, Management and Political Science at the University of Minho is organising the event “EEGConnect | 10th CICP Seminar – Europe Day: Rethinking Portugal in the European Union”, to be held on 19 May at 2.30 pm in the dst Auditorium.
The initiative is organised by the CICP – Centre for Research in Political Science and aims to reflect on some of the key political dynamics currently unfolding across Europe.
During the session, topics such as the value of European integration in the current climate and its relationship with globalisation, the role of the euro as a pillar of the integration process, Portugal’s position within the European Union, and the objectives of the Strategic Compass as a guiding instrument for the European project in a context marked by geopolitical challenges will be addressed. Different critical perspectives on the European project will also be discussed, highlighting the contribution of European Studies to understanding these phenomena.
The session will feature Luís Lobo-Fernandes, Full Professor and former Director of the Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations at the University of Minho. Ana Paula Brandão, Lecturer in the Department of Political Science at EEG, will moderate the session.
This EEGConnect session forms part of EEG’s Transversal Skills Development Programme (EEGenerating Human Skills).
