The nomination has been announced at
the end of June at the “EFMA 2018 Annual Meeting - European Financial Management
Association”, Milan, Italy.
Manuel José Rocha Armada is a Full
Professor of the Department of Management of the School of Economics and
Management of the University of Minho, Manuel José Rocha Armada. He has been
appointed as the President of the “European Financial Management Association”
(EFMA) 2019. Rocha Armada was President of the EFMA 2011, which was
convened in the University of Minho with the Nobel Prize in Economics as “Guest
Speaker”. In 2019, at his invitation, another Nobel Prize in Economics (Professor
Robert Merton – MIT), will be the “Guest Speaker”.
Rocha Armada has also been nominated
as the President of the “Portuguese Finance Network” (PFN), whose first edition
venue was the University of Minho (in 2000, and of which he has the President).
He has been invited to be the “Guest Speaker”, in the Corporate Finance related
area, of the most important conference in Management/Business (for
post-graduated) of Latin America: EnANPAD 2019. He will be also one of the “Guest
Speakers” of the “Concicat” Conference, which will be convened in Brazil by the
end of August 2018.
Rocha Armada holds a Bachelor Degree
in Management awarded by ISEG – The Lisbon School of Economics and Management,
Lisbon. He holds a Master Degree in Management Science awarded by the
University of Kent and a Doctorate Degree in Business Administration by the
Manchester Business School (both in the United Kingdom). Rocha Armada is a full
member of the Centre for Research in Economics and Management (NIPE) of UMinho,
of the Mexican Academy of Administrative Sciences and of the International
Journals’ Editorial Board, such as “European Journal of Finance”, “Frontiers in
Finance and Economics”, “The International Journal of Business” and “Finance
India” Moreover, he has also integrated the Executive/Scientific Board of the
“European Finance Association” (EFA) “Multinacional Finance Society” (MFS) and
of the “Global Finance Conference” (GFC). He is a Visiting Professor
(Invited) in various international universities: University of Bergamo (Italy),
Mackenzie Presbyterian University (UPM), University of S. Paulo (USP), and
Unisinos (Brazil); University of Zaragoza and University of Santiago de
Compostela (Spain).
Rocha Armada was “visiting
scholar” in the London Business School (UK), Manchester Business
School (UK) and The Wharton School (USA), inter
alia.
