The School of Economics, Management and Political Science at the University of Minho is joining forces with the second edition of the University Economics Olympics (OUE), an initiative promoted by the Order of Economists and the Une Dois Mundos Association, which aims to promote economic knowledge, stimulate active learning and enhance the academic talent of higher education students.
After the success of the first edition, which involved universities from the north to the south of the country, the OUE returns with a competitive format at national level, strengthening the link between academia and the profession of economist. The initiative is aimed at students in the fields of Economics and related areas, challenging them to test their knowledge and skills in a demanding and stimulating academic context.
The registration period for students is open until 20 January 2026. The university phase will take place between 9 and 21 February 2026, with each participating institution able to choose the date of the exam. The top-ranked students will represent their school in the national phase, which will take place on 10 and 11 April 2026, in Coimbra.
This year's edition offers a cash prize of €1,000 for the winner, further encouraging student participation and engagement.
EEG's participation in the University Economics Olympics is part of the School's commitment to promoting academic excellence, stimulating critical thinking and valuing the skills of its students in competitive national contexts.
