Professor Manuel José da Rocha Armada, Full Professor (and Emeritus) at the School of Economics, Management and Political Science at the University of Minho, has been appointed Member of the Steering Committee of the Investor Compensation System, by order of the Minister of State and Finance, Joaquim Miranda Sarmento.
With an academic career that began in 1980 at the University of Minho, Manuel Rocha Armada has held various leadership positions, including two terms as President of the School of Economics, Management and Political Science. He holds a PhD in Business Administration from Manchester Business School, a Master's degree in Management Science from the University of Kent and a degree in Management from ISEG - Technical University of Lisbon.
Internationally recognised in the field of finance, particularly in capital markets, he has published extensively in leading international journals and has been awarded several academic prizes, including the IIF Research Professor Award 2021. He sits on the editorial boards of several scientific journals and has held leadership positions in international associations and conferences in the field of finance.
A researcher at NIPE – CeCenter for Research in Economic and Business Policy at the University of Minho, Professor Manuel Rocha Armada has collaborated on research projects with the CMVM, European universities and Latin American institutions, strengthening the link between academic research and regulatory bodies.
