The School of Economics, Management, and Political Science at the University of Minho held the 13th edition of Research Day, an event dedicated to the presentation and discussion of research projects developed by master’s and doctoral students.
The initiative provided a space for scientific exchange, allowing participants to present their projects and receive feedback from peers and faculty in a collaborative environment focused on the development and refinement of academic research.
The program included a plenary session dedicated to the challenges and opportunities of publishing in leading international journals in the social sciences. The session featured Professors Teresa Heath and Priscila Ferreira from EEG, Professor Aurora Teixeira from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Porto, and Jorge Fernandes, an EEG alumnus and researcher at the Institute of Public Policy and Public Goods (CSIC), who shared their experiences and perspectives on the scientific publication process.
Throughout the day, 18 parallel sessions took place, spread across the morning and afternoon, during which approximately 90 research papers were presented by students from EEG and other institutions. The event also featured the participation of approximately 35 researchers as chairs and discussants, contributing to the scientific quality of the discussions.
The initiative reinforces EEG’s commitment to promoting research and creating spaces for academic debate, which are fundamental to the scientific development of its students.
