From July 22 to 26, 2024, the School of Economics and
Management (EEG) welcomed high school students who participated in the Summer
on Campus (VnC) EEG Summer Adventure program. The participants came from the
districts of Braga, Barcelos, Guimarães, Fundão, Fafe, Santo Tirso, Vila Nova
de Famalicão, Valongo and Lyon (France).
The program included different scientific areas of
the School of Economics and Management, where activities were promoted by
professors, researchers, EEG students and companies from the region.
Summer on Campus takes place annually in July, in Braga and Guimarães, and
aims to be not only a learning space for young secondary school students, but
also to foster a spirit of teamwork, friendship and mutual trust, through the
various educational, recreational and cultural activities carried out in a
university environment. The students also have the opportunity to get to know
the cities of Braga and Guimarães, to socialize with colleagues from different
geographical regions and to learn while having fun trying out the scientific,
cultural and sporting activities on offer.
In all the tasks, the participants are accompanied by professors,
researchers and students from the University - the “UMinho godparents”.
The young people therefore have the chance to spend a different week's
vacation with the students and professors of the University of Minho, on the
institution's premises, and learn while having fun, while discovering the
scientific area that best suits their preferences and aptitudes.
