Accounting of EEG’s Day

The ‘Núcleo de Estudantes de Contabilidade’ of the University of Minho (NeCont), held an online session on the Day of Accounting, 14th of May, an online session, to mark the 10 years of the Accounting Degree. To Diogo Teixeira, President of this Student’s Centre, “the Accounting Day represents the pinnacle of the work year of NECont, it’s the time when we give wings to our students’ interests and be capable of providing them with unique experiences and important knowledge for their future.”
The opening meeting had the presence of
Filomena Brás
, Vice-Presidente of the School of Economics and Management, and
Lúcia Rodrigues
, Professor of the Management Department, responsible for the scientific area of EEG’s Accounting department.
The program included a debate with the theme “Recuperação Económica Pós-Covid”, held by the Professors of the Economics Department of EEG,
Luís Aguiar-Conraria
and
João Cerejeira
, and moderating the event was Joaquim Rocha of the Law School of the University of Minho and Member of the Direction of the Accounting Degree.
At the end of the meeting, the participants had the chance to attend “À Conversa com Alumni da Licenciatura em Contabilidade”, on a talk moderated by Tânia Menezes Montenegro, Professor of the Management Department of EEG and Member of the Direction of the Accounting Degree.
Our Alumni wanted to leave a few words in regard to this Accounting Day. To
Ana Patrícia Silva, Certificatied Accountant in the Grupo BRASMAR, “the Accounting Day is a day of experiences change.” Now, to André Carvalho, Certified Accountant, Finance Legal Consultor “the Accounting Day is a day of gratitude, not only because of the amazing staff that I had along my course but also for the learning that I had - crucial pillars that make me today a successful professional.”
Marta Oliveira, Certified Accountant on CRA Consultores, Lda said that “this Day is an opportunity to show the value of our job and our work.” To Carlos Rodrigues, Auditor on Veloso & Associados SROC, Lda “the Accounting Day is one day when themes are approached in an open way, creating a share of opinions, experiences, and knowledge. Preserving this activity is to leverage the critical conscience of the students in the Accounting Degree.”
The concluding meeting had the presence of the President of NeCont, Diogo Teixeira, and Filomena Brás, Director of the Accounting Degree in EEG.
“The Accounting Day is a day of celebration and activities to balance the accounting degree, looking to the future. One moment of Reunion with students, Alumni, and all the ones interested in accounting. To these Alumni was coming home.” Was with these words of the Professors Filomena Brás and Tânia Montenegro of the Direction of the Accounting Degree that we closed this day, that marked a decade of the Accounting Degree of the School of Economics and Management of the University of Minho. Congratulations to the NeCont and to the Direction of the Degree for this day!
