Auditorium dst | Building 8 | Gualtar Campus | Braga, 04:30 p.m.
On January 15, 2026, at 4:30 p.m., the School of Economics, Management, and Political Science at the University of Minho will hold a session entitled “When intelligence is not enough: critical thinking as an epistemological requirement” in the dst Auditorium, dedicated to reflecting on the role of critical thinking in evaluating information, arguments, and decisions.
The initiative proposes an analysis of the contemporary challenges associated with decision-making, in a context marked by information overload, fragmentation of knowledge, and increasing pressure to decide quickly. Based on the Socratic tradition, the session addresses critical thinking as a philosophical practice of monitoring one's own judgments, articulating contributions from philosophy, cognitive psychology, and the analysis of social and technological conditions that favor systematic error.
The session will feature Nuno Paulos Tavares, who holds a degree in Philosophy and has been teaching since 2005 in the areas of Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, Personal Development, and Critical Thinking. He is co-founder and coordinator of Enteléquia – Practical Philosophy and founder of A Consulta Filosófica, working as a consultant in educational and organizational contexts.
This EEGConnect session is part of the EEG Transversal Skills Development Program (EEGenerating Human Skills).Registration is available on the EEGenerating Skills platform.
