Cláudia Moreira, a student on the Economics degree course at the School of Economics, Management and Political Science at the University of Minho, has been honoured with the Professor Jacinto Nunes Award, presented by Banco de Portugal to the country's best students in this scientific field.
The award ceremony took place yesterday at the Money Museum in Lisbon and was attended by the Governor of the Bank of Portugal, Álvaro Santos Pereira, Deputy Governors Luís Máximo dos Santos and Clara Raposo, as well as members of the institution's administration. The award recognises students who obtained the highest final average in their degree in Economics, among universities whose last admitted candidate scored 140 points or higher. In addition to academic recognition, the distinction also gives the student the opportunity to undertake an internship at the Bank of Portugal, contributing to the enrichment of her academic and professional career.
For Cláudia Moreira, this distinction represents ‘a huge honour’ and recognition of the ‘effort and commitment’ she has dedicated throughout her degree. The student also emphasises the role of the EEG in this journey, highlighting the ‘rigour and excellence’ of the School, as well as the presence of Professor Luís Aguiar-Conraria at the ceremony, which she considers a clear sign of the EEG's support for its students' journey.
The awarding of this prize reinforces external recognition of the quality of the education provided at the School of Economics, Management and Political Science of the University of Minho and the academic merit of its students.
