Laura C. Ferreira-Pereira holds a BA in International Relations and a MA in European Studies, both from the University of Minho. In 2003 she received her PhD in International Relations from the University of Kent at Canterbury (UK). She is Professor of Political Science and International Relations of the University of Minho where she teaches various courses in the domains of IR and EU Studies Studies. She is also an invited professor at the University of São Paulo. She has delivered papers and given lectures in various countries, including Brazil, Canada, Cape Verde, Czech Republic, Chile, Croatia, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands, Turkey, UK, Uruguay and US. Her research has been published in Journal of Common Market Studies, Journal of Contemporary European Studies, International Politics, Journal of European Integration, and Cooperation and Conflict, among others; and in several edited volumes. Laura Ferreira-Pereira is the editor of Portugal in the European Union (Routledge, 2014) and co-editor of The European Union’s Strategic Partnerships: Global Diplomacy in a Contested World (Palgrave Macmillan, 2021). She is a member of the editorial boards of the journals Contemporary Politics and Global Society; and founding member of the European International Studies Association.
