APPLICATIONS
The PhD Programme in Economics and Finance offers advanced scientific training in the areas of Economics and Finance, with a strong focus on rigorous, innovative analyses of high academic and professional impact.
Developed in consortium by the University of Coimbra and the University of Minho, the programme benefits from a highly qualified faculty with recognized international scientific productivity, ensuring excellence in teaching, supervision and scientific production.
Research activity is developed at CeBER (Centre for Business and Economics Research) and/or NIPE (Centre for Research in Economics and Business Policies) — both rated as Very Good by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) — in a collaborative, international research environment oriented towards the frontiers of knowledge.
Applications will be accepted annually and alternately at each institution. In the 2026/2027 academic year, applications will be accepted at the University of Coimbra. The first semester will take place at the University of Coimbra and the second semester at the University of Minho.
