Find here answers to the most frequently asked questions about the Double Degrees at the School of Economics and Management of the University of Minho.
1) How long do double degrees last?
The programme lasts 4 years (8 semesters), with a pre-defined study plan.
2) Will I receive one or two diplomas at the end?
You will receive two diplomas, corresponding to the two degrees in the pair.
3) Do I pay more tuition fees for being a double degree?
No. Students pay the current tuition fees for one course, but over the 4 years.
4) What are the entrance examinations?
Mathematics A or Mathematics A + one of the following: Economics, Philosophy, Physics and Chemistry, Geography, English or Portuguese.
5) Can I apply for the double degree and, in the following options, include the "single" degrees?
Yes. You can organise your preferences in the CNA strategically, placing the double degree as your first option and, in the following ones, the corresponding degrees. Example of preferences: 1st Management + International Business | 2nd Management | 3rd International Business.
6) Will I actually belong to both courses? Who is my course director?
Yes. You will belong to both courses, with both course directors. However, there is a Coordinating Professor responsible for double degree students, who will provide all specific support.
7) If I decide to continue with only one of the degrees, is that possible?
Yes. Since you are formally enrolled in two degrees, you may withdraw from one programme and follow the normal pathway of the other.
8) How are timetable and exam conflicts avoided?
The plan is integrated and pre-defined, designed to accommodate timetables and assessment periods (exams).
9) In what language are the courses taught?
The 1st year is taught in Portuguese. From the 2nd to the 4th year, courses are taught predominantly in English.
10) Is there international mobility (Erasmus/similar)?
There are international mobility opportunities similar to all courses at EEG, according to the applicable conditions and schedules.
