Executive Master's Degree in Executive Management in Public Administration

The Executive Master's in Intermediate Management in Public Administration is an innovative and intensive training programme, specifically designed for professionals with experience in the public sector who perform or intend to perform management, coordination and intermediate leadership functions.

With a duration of only one year, this degree offers a unique opportunity to acquire, quickly and effectively, the skills necessary to lead teams, manage resources and implement changes in the context of Public Administration.

Description


- Disseminate knowledge in Public Management in its various functional areas of leaders;
- Stimulate critical thinking and the formulation of informed opinions regarding the conceptual models prevailing in Public Administration and Administrative Modernization;
- Raise awareness of the specificities and challenges specific to Administration for Public Administration leaders;
- Stimulate critical thinking and decision-making based on data analysis in public organizations;
- Develop teamwork, communication, negotiation and leadership skills;
- Stimulate ethics and social responsibility in public organizations.

Key learning outcomes


This study cycle aims to provide Public Administration leaders with comprehensive skills in the area of Management, which will allow them to: 
1. Valuing the public interest, including challenges for public management; 
2. Monitor public policies; 
3. Evaluate the performance of public policies; 
4. Manage public projects; 
5. Promote digital governance; 
6. Monitor the financial and accounting management of the Public Administration.

Formal requirements


The conditions for entry into the study cycle meet legal requirements. Having a strong professional orientation, candidates must demonstrate a minimum of five years of prior experience. In addition to the previous requirement, candidates must meet one of the following conditions:
a) Holders of a bachelor’s degree or legal equivalent; or
b) Holders of a foreign higher academic degree, awarded following a 1st cycle of studies organized in accordance with the Bologna principles; or
c) Holders of midlevel management positions in Public Administration.
