EEG Economics PhD Alumnus at the World Bank

The School of Economics and Management of the University of Minho (EEG) is proud to announce that one of its Alumni of the Doctoral Program in Economics,
Ziad Ghandour
has reached a significant milestone in his career by joining the
World Bank
team as an Economist / ET Consultant.
Ziad Ghandour completed his PhD at the School of Economics and Management in February 2022, where he stood out for his research with his doctoral thesis, entitled "Quality Competition in Regulated Markets", supervised by
Odd Rune Straume
.
"Working at the World Bank has been an incredibly rewarding experience," said Ziad Ghandour. The training I received at the School of Economics and Management has been fundamental to my professional development and has enabled me to contribute significantly to the World Bank's Business-Ready project on Market Competition."
The World Bank is an international financial institution that provides loans to developing countries. It is the largest and best-known development bank in the world, and has observer status in the United Nations Development Group and other international forums, such as the financial G-20.
The School of Economics and Management congratulates Ziad Ghandour on joining the World Bank. His exemplary career serves as an inspiration to current and future students of the Doctoral Program in Economics."
